Chakras
We have 7 main chakras which are the energy centers of our bodies;Crown, Third Eye, Throat, Heart, Solar Plexus, Sacral, and Root. Every asana (pose) affects a chakra. It is important to open and balance these energy centers for both physical and mental benefits. Have you ever had an instructor tell you to breathe through your heart center? Balancing that fourth chakra increases your capacity toward love and compassion.
Ask your instructor which poses you need to do to balance, strengthening your personal practice. I am also happy to discuss the subject further.
